The Center for Student Involvement & Leadership’s Alternative Spring Break (ASB) promotes service learning, social justice, and community building. In Spring 2018, Hawkeye Service Team members traveled to 16 locations across the U.S. for a six-day service immersion trip. Each team completed a semester-long course that anchored their service in an issue pertinent to the city they visited. Topics included educational equity, food justice, children’s health, homelessness, and public health. View the 2018 Alternative Spring Break data.
