In April, the Department of Justice published new regulations that call for institutions of higher education to make all digital content, with few exceptions, accessible by April 2026 for larger institutions and April 2027 for certain smaller schools and populations. The regulations identify the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Version 2.1, Level AA (WCAG 2.1 AA) as the accessibility standard for compliance with the new rule.
