Ninety-eight years ago, in 1925, the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) opened, providing University of Iowa students a place to gather, participate in campus activities, and deepen their Hawkeye connections. As the IMU prepares for its 100th birthday, the university is looking to its future and how the building can continue to serve as a hub for student activity and support.

Paul Natvig, M.D., has been named director of Student Health at the University of Iowa. Natvig, who has been serving in the role in an interim capacity since 2017, will officially begin his new role on June 1, 2020.

Mental health struggles are common among college students, but individuals are often reluctant to seek help. Now, leaders from some of the University of Iowa’s Fraternity and Sorority community are launching an initiative to de-stigmatize some of the most common issues faced by their members.
