Campus Safety Improvement Board
Charged by the Office of the President, the Campus Safety Improvement Board (CSIB) seeks to build trust and facilitate difficult conversations around campus safety to continuously adapt to the ever-changing dynamics of our campus environment.
The board comprises representatives from various campus constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, and safety experts. Its primary goal is to ensure that safety policies and practices are aligned with the needs and values of the university community. The board will meet twice per semester to review safety data, assess the effectiveness of current measures, and recommend improvements.
A key aspect of the board’s work is its commitment to transparency and creating an open line of communication. By engaging with the campus community and soliciting feedback, the board seeks to build trust and foster a sense of shared responsibility for safety. This collaborative approach is essential for addressing complex safety challenges, building on the work of the Reimagining Campus Safety Implementation Team, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
