What is your favorite University of Iowa memory?

My favorite memory at the University of Iowa was the football game that got delayed so long it didn’t end until well past 1am. The best part was hearing the stories everyone shared from their own experiences. For example, someone brought their dog into the stadium or saw a newly married couple show up after their wedding! Not many people or schools can say they attended a game like this one.

What would you like to see changed in the world during your lifetime?

One thing I have noticed while here at the University of Iowa is that all people are built with kindness. During my lifetime I would love to see more face to face interaction between people. While buried in our phones we miss the opportunity to meet others and make meaningful connections. I keep a gratitude journal daily and the most impactful memories I have written down have come from seeing acts of kindness among strangers. Learning to unplug from our devices, if just for a short while, would be something I would love to see changed in my lifetime.

What is your go-to karaoke song?

I would choose Check Yes or No by George Strait, but it would have to be a duet.

What is your secret talent?

My secret talent is the ability to find 4-leaf clovers. I have a growing collection of 472 that I have found over the years.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself continuing to share my curiosity with those around me. I think education and asking questions is an important part of life so in my career I want to have a constant pursuit of learning. My hope is that my excitement to seek new information will leave an impact on younger generations and those around me.
