Benton Renaud is a Political Science and Finance major from Ankeny, Iowa. 

What is your favorite University of Iowa memory?

Surprisingly, my favorite memory would be working Move-In week in the Residence Halls. It's an incredibly long and tiring week, but being able to see connections starting to be made and people taking their first step into their college career is a memory I wouldn't change for the world.

What would you like to see changed in the world during your lifetime?

I would like to see a carbon-neutral future and a plan set to combat the effects of climate change. I want to make sure that my generation will not be like the other generations who pushed climate change off to the point where it is today, but rather be the generation that solves the issues relating to our climate so our kids and our kid's kids can enjoy a world were they don't have to worry about the habitability of our planet.

Being able to know almost every Taylor Swift song

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself in a career working on issues that give me purpose and that I have a passion for. Outside of work, I see myself spending time with the people closest to me and giving back to my communities in any way I can.
