The Office of the Dean of Students has a variety of initiatives and programs that support students' in overcoming challenges in order to succeed at the University of Iowa. The office is a campus leader and partner in creating meaningful learning experiences and supporting positive and inclusive communities of students and scholars. We are here to provide assistance, advocacy, and support.
The Dean of Students team shapes the student experience and supports student success in a variety of ways including assisting with navigating a new environment, getting involved in activities and organizations, supporting social justice change, and determining options for addressing challenges.

Leadership and Engagement provides students with opportunities to develop their interests, choose experiences that align with their goals, and enhance their education both in and outside of the classroom.
Office of Student Accountability
The Office of Student Accountability is dedicated to encouraging responsible community behavior, educating UI students, and facilitating accountability in situations where violations of the Code of Student Life have occurred.
Wellbeing and Basic Needs
We know that students may experience a variety of challenges during their college career. Wellbeing and Basic Needs provide coordinated efforts along with campus partners to assist students with overcoming challenges to be successful and continue towards graduation.
