Welcome back, Hawkeyes!

Whether this is your first semester at the University of Iowa or you’re returning for another year, I’m excited to welcome you to campus and to a new academic year.

The start of a semester brings a lot of energy to Iowa City. It’s a chance to reconnect with friends, meet new people, explore new opportunities, and set goals for the months ahead. As you settle into your classes and routines, I encourage you to make time for the experiences outside the classroom that are such an important part of being a Hawkeye.

Get involved in a student organization. Attend an event that sounds interesting. Introduce yourself to someone new. Explore campus and Iowa City. Take care of yourself, and don’t hesitate to ask for help when you need it. Some of the most meaningful parts of your Iowa experience may come from opportunities you didn’t expect.

The Black & Gold Bulletin is the best way to stay connected to what’s happening across campus. Each week, you’ll find opportunities to get involved, upcoming events, important reminders, and resources to support your success. I encourage you to take a few minutes to read it and find something that helps you make the most of your time at Iowa.

Most importantly, remember you are part of the Hawkeye community. People across campus want you to succeed and are ready to support you along the way.

I hope you have a great start to the semester and a rewarding year ahead.

Go Hawks!
