The Division of Student Life and student leaders have made the decision to pause Clothing Closet operations for the 2025-26 academic year due to space limitations as a result of the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) modernization project. 

The current space on the ground floor of the IMU will be used to support the Food Pantry’s needs for same-day storage space. Space has also been created for confidential meetings where campus partners can connect students with resources such as financial assistance, childcare, and legal services.

While operations are paused, individuals looking for low-cost clothing options are encouraged to access locations available around the community. Winter coats will continue to be available later this fall for those who need assistance in obtaining cold weather gear.

Opportunities to reopen the Clothing Closet will be reevaluated when the IMU modernization project is complete.
