What is your favorite memory from the University of Iowa?
My favorite memory at Iowa was teaming up with Noel Mills to create a team to run for Student Government together. It was amazing to meet so many students from all across campus and learn about their passions and the changes they wanted to make in the world, and to work together to make campus better for students.
If you had a superpower for one day, what would it be?
If I had a superpower for one day, it would be to be able to convince anyone of anything. I would fly around and convince rich people to donate their money to good causes, make the government invest more in public education, and get everyone to eat more vegetables.
Why do you want to be a part of Homecoming Royalty?
I want to be part of Homecoming Royalty because I love what it means to be a Hawkeye– to grow, challenge yourself, and reach beyond others’ expectations of you– and I would be proud to be a representative of those values.
What would like to see changed in the world during your lifetime?
We need action on climate change as soon as possible or we won’t have the time or planet to do everything else we want to do!
If you had the chance to redo one year on campus, which year would it be, and what would you do differently?
I would redo my junior year and take better care of myself! I was just learning how to say no to things I didn’t have time for and signed up for so much that my mental health and grades started slipping. Luckily I had help from my friends and UCS (we LOVE group counseling) so I was able to get through it and learn from my mistakes.
What is a fun fact that no one knows about you?
Some people know this, but I love painting and I get told I should have been an art major a lot. I’m definitely not cool enough for that, but it’s a nice sentiment!
