Quentin Marquez: 2014 Homecoming Court

Quentin Marquez is a senior double majoring in Political Science and International Relations from Glenwood, Iowa. We asked each member of the 2014 Homecoming Court to let us know a little more about themselves.

What is one of your favorite memories at Iowa?

My favorite memory at Iowa was my first game as a baritone player in the Hawkeye Marching Band.  It was an unforgettable day at Kinnick as we marched in the middle of a downpour as we beat Tennesse Tech in the first game of the season.

What are three things on your bucket list?

1. See the Hawkeyes win a National Championship in football.

2. Run for office.

3. Own my own business.

If you could jump out of a plane, where would you want to land?

Assuming I have a parachute, I would love to land on a beach in the Caribbean.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

Many people don't know that my high school did not have a marching band. The first time I ever marched on a field was with the Hawkeye Marching Band in Kinnick Stadium.

If you could go back to freshman year, what would you do differently?

I don't think I would change a thing, but I do wish I would have kept a journal about all the wonderful people I have met and places I have been over the past four years at Iowa. It has been one amazing ride!
