Michael Nauman is a senior studying Business Analytics & Information Systems from Dubuque, Iowa. We asked each member of the 2014 Homecoming Court to let us know a little more about themselves.
What is one of your favorite memories at Iowa?
One of my favorite memories at Iowa was when I first moved in to the residence halls and I was sad about leaving my friends and family. I remember waking up the first day and going over to Burge to get food. I remember being worried about what I would get, where I would sit, and if I was going to make friends that day. I decided to make a waffle. After waiting for a few minutes, I got my waffle and sat down. I noticed that it had a tigerhawk in the middle of the waffle. All of a sudden I felt peaceful and relaxed. I realized that school wasn’t going to be bad at all and ready to take it on full force.
What are three things on your bucket list?
- I want to get a sail boat and take it to the ocean to sail for an indefinite amount of time.
- I want to go to the Hot Air Balloon festival in New Mexico once before I die.
- I want to spend time sight seeing in Greece.
If you could jump out of a plane, where would you want to land?
If I could jump out of a plane and land anywhere I would land in a ball pit.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
Most people don’t know that I’ve taken 5 semesters of Latin at Iowa.
If you could go back to freshman year, what would you do differently?
I would have worried less about making friends and focused more on how I could help make an impact at the University of Iowa.
