Kenneth Gaskin: 2014 Homecoming Court

Kenneth Gaskin is a senior studying Elementary Education from Bettendorf, Iowa. We asked each member of the 2014 Homecoming Court to let us know a little more about themselves.

What is one of your favorite memories at Iowa?

The relationship that I formed with my residents as an RA last year. I enjoyed being with them a lot. Whether it was video games, floor dinners, or just chatting together, we always had a good time.

What are three things on your bucket list?

    A) Run a marathon. (Challenging myself and putting 100% into something).

    B) Travel to Africa. (I've taken 4 semesters of Swahili, so I would like to use it. Explore nature and learn about the different cultures).

    C) Play an acting role in a play or short film (Just seems like fun and haven't done it since elementary school).

If you could jump out of a plane, where would you want to land?

I'd want to land at the North Pole. I'd like to see the animals and explore nature. The Northern Lights. I'd also like to pay Santa a visit.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

My dream car is a Volkswagen Beetle. (Someday)

If you could go back to freshman year, what would you do differently?

I would stick to my declared major instead of going open for a while, only to go back to my first choice.
