Jade Manternach is a senior studying Business from Monticello, Iowa. We asked each member of the 2014 Homecoming Court to let us know a little more about themselves.
What is one of your favorite memories at Iowa?
One of my favorite memories at Iowa was getting to introduce Henry B. Tippie for his Phil's Day speech this May. President Sally Mason introduced me, and I had the opportunity to share what philanthropy has meant to me during my time here at Iowa in front of over 500 students, faculty, and staff. It was a lot of fun, and I had the opportunity to meet Henry and Patricia Tippie that day and hear their stories about The University of Iowa.
What are three things on your bucket list?
1. Vacation in London.
2. Run a marathon
3. Have 6-10 kids
And in that order.
If you could jump out of a plane, where would you want to land?
I would want to land somewhere beautiful and scenic. I'm torn between New Zealand and Italy.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
I started listening to podcasts this fall on my way to campus in the mornings, and I'm kind of becoming obsessed with them!
If you could go back to freshman year, what would you do differently?
I would start the habit of waking up early instead of staying up until 2am finishing homework every night. I am a super early riser now, and it's seriously the best way to do life as a student!
