The Iowa Memorial Union hosted the annual Big Ten Union Directors Conference in October of 2017. Representatives from institutions across the Big Ten descended on Iowa City to learn from one another. Conference attendees focused on big picture issues affecting campuses and college unions across the country.

Union Directors and staff discussed issues around free speech and civil disobedience, programming, marketing, finances and fundraising, marketing and assessment. Big Ten visitors enjoyed their time in Iowa City visiting the 12th floor of the UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital (home of the WAVE), University Club, and Hancher Auditorium.
