Connor Gronski: UI Homecoming Court 2018
My favorite memory from the University of Iowa is dancing in Iowa Shout during Homecoming with my fraternity and our sorority pairing my freshman year. Performing on the Pentacrest in front of the entire UI community was an experience like no other. The energy and excitement I felt during Homecoming 2015 truly showed me what it meant to be a Hawkeye. I will never forget this experience!
I would like to have the power to teleport anywhere in the world. I studied abroad in China two years ago, and I absolutely loved my time overseas. I would teleport to different countries throughout the day to experience a variety of cultures and traditions.
I love the University of Iowa, and I am very fortunate for all the experiences I have received the past three years. I have grown immensely through my student organizations and formal studies, and I would be happy to have the opportunity to represent Iowa as a member of Homecoming Royalty. Being able to serve on the University's Homecoming Court is an incredible honor. I would be extremely grateful to serve as Iowa's 2018 Homecoming Royalty.
I would like to see an end to sexual violence in our world. I find it incredibly problematic and horrifying that one in three women and one in six men have experienced some form of sexual violence in their lifetime. This is a huge issue plaguing our world, and I would love to see this problem eradicated.
I don't think I would redo one year on campus. There have been a lot of ups and downs throughout my time at Iowa, but I have been able to learn from my successes and failures through every experience I have encountered. Each year has been very special to me, and I cannot pick one in particular to change.
I am double-jointed in both of my thumbs!
