Unit of Belonging and Inclusion
Mission statement
The mission of the Women's Resource and Action Center is to create greater equity for individuals and communities of all identities, with a particular focus on women, through activism, social justice initiatives, leadership training, advocacy, service, and personal and professional development.
About the Women's Resource and Action Center
Many of WRAC's programs focus on building and empowering leaders, both here on campus during their time as students, and beyond. At WRAC, students receive training, mentoring, support, and opportunities to put learning into practice in volunteer programs, the Certified Peer Educator program, planning events and leading projects, and in WRAC's acclaimed, intensive Iowa NEW Leadership program. Current and former “WRACsters” are active making positive change on campus and in the local community, actively engaging in civil society and democratic institutions at all levels, starting their own businesses, leading non-profit organizations, working in government, and even running for political office.
