The mission of the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership (CSIL) is to foster growth and leadership in students and their organizations by facilitating meaningful and empowering opportunities to engage and contribute within and beyond their communities.
About the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership
CSIL administers several programs that provide valuable services to the UI student body. Many of these services are free or have a small cost to the student. Services include Student Legal Services, Office Campus Housing Service, and Student Organization Business Office (SOBO).
Throughout the year, each of our programs and activities assess student learning, program effectiveness, student leader development, and participate in university wide work. Our assessment reporting shares more information about how what we learn guides our practice to better serve students at the University of Iowa.
Being a part of a fraternity or a sorority is a great way to be involved in not only the campus community, but in the local community as well. Fraternity & Sorority Life provides many students with a wide variety of leadership opportunities in their chapter, as well as, the ability to serve on one of the four governing councils.
CSIL offers several opportunities for students to advance their leadership skills. Students learn about leadership models and develop a personal philosophy of leadership.
There are over 100 multicultural student organizations at the University of Iowa that provide programming, service, educational programs, and cultural experiences to the campus community.
